Meet Shelly Camera: Smart Indoor Monitoring, Reimagined

The Shelly Camera marks an exciting new step for Shelly as its first dedicated video monitoring device. Designed for indoor use, it brings together Full HD video, intelligent alerts, two-way audio and strong privacy controls in a compact design.

What makes Shelly Camera stand out is not just the camera itself. It is how easily it fits into the wider Shelly ecosystem, giving users more flexibility around storage, privacy, automation and third-party integrations.

Compact design, flexible placement

Shelly Camera is designed to fit into spaces where larger cameras can feel intrusive. Its compact 60 x 90 x 100 mm design makes it easy to place on a shelf, counter or desk or mount on a wall or ceiling.

This makes it suitable for a range of applications, from monitoring a nursery or living room to keeping an eye on reception areas, offices and small retail spaces.

The camera features a 110° horizontal and 70° vertical field of view, providing a clear view of the room from a single position. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, while Bluetooth makes setup simple without the need for additional hubs or network cabling.

The included 2 m USB-C cable and metal mounting plate also give users flexibility when deciding where to position the camera.

Privacy built into the camera

Privacy is becoming an increasingly important consideration when choosing an indoor camera. Shelly Camera gives users greater control over their footage and how the camera operates.

Video can be stored either in the EU-based Shelly cloud or locally on a microSD card, giving users a choice based on their needs and preferences. Video stored in the cloud is encrypted at rest, adding another layer of protection for recorded footage.

The camera also includes Privacy Mode and configurable Blackout Zones.

Privacy Mode allows users to disable video monitoring when the camera should not be active. Blackout Zones can be used to exclude specific areas from view, such as a desk, computer screen or private section of a room.

These features give users practical control over their camera rather than treating privacy as an afterthought.

Smarter alerts, less unnecessary activity

A camera is most useful when it helps users focus on what matters.

Shelly Camera uses motion detection, configurable motion zones and cloud-based AI object recognition to provide more relevant alerts. Users can define the areas they want to monitor and receive notifications when activity is detected.

For example, a business could focus motion detection around an entrance or storage area, while a homeowner could monitor a doorway or particular part of a room.

Alerts with image previews can be viewed through the Shelly Smart Control app, giving users a quick way to check what is happening without constantly monitoring a live video feed.

More than a camera with Shelly automations

One of the biggest advantages of Shelly Camera is its connection to the wider Shelly ecosystem.

The camera can work alongside Shelly relays, sensors and other devices to create useful automations. For example, motion detected by the camera could trigger lighting through a Shelly relay, creating a simple automated response when someone enters a room.

Shelly Camera also supports integrations with third-party platforms including Home Assistant and Frigate NVR, making it suitable for customers who already have smart home or automation systems in place.

This open approach gives installers and partners more flexibility when designing solutions. Customers can add the camera to an existing environment rather than building their setup around a single platform.

From homes to small businesses

Shelly Camera can support a wide range of everyday applications.

At home, it can be used to keep an eye on children, pets, living spaces and entrances. Two-way audio allows users to listen and speak through the camera using the Shelly Smart Control app.

For small businesses, the compact design makes it suitable for reception areas, offices, stock rooms and other indoor spaces where discreet monitoring is important.

The combination of Full HD video, intelligent alerts, privacy controls and automation also makes it more than just a standalone security camera. It can become part of a wider smart building or automation solution.

SHelly Alloys New Smart Camera

A new addition to the Shelly ecosystem

With Shelly Camera, Shelly is bringing its approach to smart automation into video monitoring for the first time.

Its compact design, strong privacy features, flexible storage options and broad integration capabilities give users more choice in how they use and manage their camera.

For partners, it also opens up new opportunities to combine video monitoring with the Shelly devices already being specified in smart home, commercial and building automation projects.

Shelly Camera is now officially launched, bringing smart indoor monitoring into the Shelly ecosystem.
