The Akuvox Property Management Portal now seamlessly integrates into IVSEC LPR!
Vehicle access does not have to rely on remotes, access cards or PIN codes. By combining IVSEC Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) with Akuvox access control, installers can deliver a hands-free vehicle access solution that automatically identifies authorised vehicles and controls entry.
The integration brings together two key functions. The IVSEC LPR camera identifies the vehicle licence plate, while Akuvox uses that information to determine whether the vehicle is authorised to enter.
🚗 No remotes. No keypads. No waiting. Just drive in.
For the driver, the experience is simple. Approach the gate. Let the IVSEC camera read the licence plate, and, if the vehicle is authorised, Akuvox triggers the connected gate or door to open.
How does the IVSEC and Akuvox integration work?
At the entry point, an IVSEC NC529XA LPR camera captures and reads a vehicle's licence plate as it approaches the gate.
The camera sends the recognised plate information to the connected Akuvox access device using an HTTP API. Akuvox then checks the plate against the authorised user records stored in the access control system.
If the licence plate is authorised and the user has permission to enter at that time, Akuvox activates the relay connected to the gate, garage door, boom gate or other access mechanism.
The event is also recorded in the access log, providing a record of vehicle access.
For the driver, the process is almost invisible. They simply approach the entrance, the camera reads the plate, and the gate opens automatically if access is approved.

Why use LPR for vehicle access?
Traditional vehicle access often depends on remotes, cards or key fobs. While these systems remain useful, they can create additional administration when credentials are lost, shared or need to be replaced.
LPR provides an alternative by using the vehicle's licence plate as the access credential.
This can provide several practical benefits:
Hands-free entry
Drivers do not need to search for a remote, present a card or enter a PIN. The system can automatically recognise an authorised vehicle as it approaches.
Centralised access management
Licence plates can be associated with users in the Akuvox access control system. Administrators can add, change or remove vehicle access without issuing physical credentials.
Access schedules
Access permissions can be configured around specific users and time periods. For example, employees could have access during business hours while contractors could be restricted to approved days and times.
Improved visibility
Access events are recorded in Akuvox, giving property and facility managers a history of vehicle movements. When camera video or snapshots are incorporated into the wider system, managers can also have visual information associated with access events.
Less administration
There are no physical remotes or cards to distribute, recover or replace when a vehicle or user changes.
Built for vehicle access

The IVSEC NC529XA is designed for applications where reliable licence plate recognition is required. Its 8 MP sensor and motorised 8–32 mm lens give installers flexibility when positioning the camera for different entry points. |

The rugged IP67 and IK10-rated housing also makes it suitable for outdoor installations where protection from dust, water and physical impact is important.
The camera's built-in LPR functionality allows recognised licence plate information to be sent to compatible systems. In an IVSEC and Akuvox deployment, the camera communicates directly with the Akuvox access device using HTTP API calls.
This makes the solution particularly useful for sites where vehicle access needs to be integrated into an existing Akuvox environment rather than installed as a separate standalone system.
What does an installer need?
A typical installation requires an IVSEC NC529XA LPR camera, a compatible Akuvox access device and a connection to the site's network.
🔧Configure the IVSEC–Akuvox Integration
The camera and Akuvox device need to be configured so they can communicate with each other. On the Akuvox side, users and their authorised licence plates are configured in the access control system.
On the IVSEC camera, installers configure the LPR detection area and the event push settings that send recognised plate information to Akuvox.
Camera positioning is particularly important. The camera needs a clear view of approaching vehicles and the licence plate should be captured at a suitable angle and distance. Correct positioning, lighting and configuration all contribute to reliable LPR performance.
Once the system is configured, installers can test the complete process by driving an authorised vehicle through the detection area and confirming that the plate is recognised, the access event appears in Akuvox and the connected gate or door relay operates correctly.
From access control to smart parking
The combination becomes even more powerful when used with Akuvox's cloud and property management capabilities.
For apartment buildings, commercial properties and other multi-user environments, property managers can manage users, vehicle access and permissions through the relevant Akuvox management platform.

This creates opportunities to move beyond basic gate automation and build a broader smart access solution.
For example, a residential development could assign a resident's vehicle licence plate to their user profile and allow automatic entry to the car park. A commercial building could provide employees with access during business hours while restricting contractor vehicles to approved times.
For larger parking environments, LPR can also support smarter parking management by connecting vehicle identification with parking allocation and access rules.
A practical solution for modern access projects
The IVSEC and Akuvox integration gives installers a straightforward way to add licence plate-based vehicle access to new projects or existing Akuvox environments.
Instead of relying entirely on physical credentials, customers can use the vehicle's licence plate as part of their access control strategy, while retaining centralised user management, access schedules and event logging.
For Alloys partners, this creates an opportunity to offer more than a camera or gate controller. The IVSEC NC529XA and Akuvox can be positioned together as a complete vehicle access solution for apartments, commercial buildings, warehouses, offices, gated communities and other sites where convenient and controlled vehicle entry is required.
With the right camera positioning and configuration, the result is a seamless experience for drivers and a simpler way for property and facility managers to control who can access their site.
