A Key Shift: No Onboard Operating System
The most significant departure from its predecessor, the ActivPanel 9, is that the ActivPanel 10 no longer includes an onboard computing device or operating system. This change puts flexibility into the hands of users—giving them control over how and what they connect.
Instead of relying on a fixed built-in OS, users can now:
- Use their existing PC, laptop, or notebook
- Choose from Promethean’s plug-in computing options, including:
- Promethean Chromebox – perfect for education institutions running on Google.
- Promethean OPS-A – Android-based, EDLA certified for educational compatibility
- Promethean OPS-M – Intel-based with optional pre-installed Microsoft® Windows or without an OS, allowing users to configure their preferred system
