Epson Expression Photo XP-980: A3 Photo Printing in a Compact All-in-One

For customers looking to produce high-quality photographs, artwork and creative projects in a home, studio or small workspace, the Epson Expression Photo XP-980 combines A3 photo printing with print, scan and copy functionality in a compact all-in-one device.

Designed with photo printing in mind, the XP-980 uses six-colour Claria Photo HD inks and supports print resolutions of up to 5,760 x 1,440 dpi, producing detailed prints up to A3 (11" x 17").

For partners, it presents a practical option for customers who want wide-format photo capability alongside the convenience of an everyday multifunction printer.

High-quality A3 photo printing

The XP-980 is designed for applications where image detail and colour quality are important.

Its six-colour Claria Photo HD ink system uses Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan and Light Magenta. With a minimum droplet size of 1.5pl, the system supports detailed images and smooth colour transitions.

The printer also supports borderless printing up to 11" x 17", giving customers the option to produce larger photographs, artwork, posters and other creative materials directly from their workspace.

This combination makes the XP-980 particularly relevant when a customer needs A3 photo printing without giving up print, scan and copy functionality.

Flexible media handling

The XP-980 supports a range of everyday and creative print applications, with separate trays for plain and photo paper and a rear feed for speciality paper.

The main paper capacity is up to 100 sheets, while the rear feed provides a dedicated option for speciality media and larger-format print jobs.

For customers moving between everyday documents and creative work, this setup provides a straightforward way to manage different types of printing from one device.

Wireless printing from computers and mobile devices

With Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, the XP-980 can be integrated into a home or small workspace without relying solely on a physical connection.

Mobile printing is supported through Epson Smart Panel, AirPrint and Epson Email Print. The Epson Smart Panel app also allows compatible iOS and Android devices to be used for printer setup, management, printing and scanning.

For customers who regularly capture and store photographs on smartphones or tablets, mobile connectivity provides a convenient path from digital image to physical print.

Print, scan and copy on one device.

While photo printing is a key application, the XP-980 also provides the functionality needed for everyday printing and document tasks.

Its flatbed scanner offers a resolution of up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi, supporting detailed scanning and copying of photographs and documents.

The device also supports manual double-sided printing, adding further versatility for customers using the printer across creative and general-purpose applications.

Simple operation with a colour touchscreen

A 4.3-inch colour touchscreen with gesture navigation provides direct access to the printer's key functions.

This gives customers a convenient way to manage print and scan jobs from the device itself, alongside the available wireless and mobile options.
